Master of Education
  • (a) Bachelor of Education or its equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.75, as accepted by the HEP Senate; or
  • (b) Bachelor of Education or equivalent, with a minimum CGPA of 2.50 but not reaching CGPA of 2.75, may be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment; or
  • (c) Bachelor of Education or its equivalent which does not achieve a CGPA of 2.50, may be admitted subject to at least five (5) years of working experience in a related field; or
  • Other qualifications and approvals equivalent to (a), (b) or (c) recognized by the Senate.
English Language Requirements

The English language requirements for international student admission are 6.0 IELTS, 60 TOEFL iBT and 627 TOEFL ITP, except for the following programs:

  1. Teaching English as a Second Language Program
    Entry requirements are a minimum of Band 6.5 IELTS OR 80 TOEFL iBT OR 627 TOEFL ITP OR HEET LEVEL 8.
    • Interview Requirements for International Candidates (only to selected candidates for Doctor of Philosophy and Master of Research mode programs)
    • Have met the admission requirements set by the faculty.
    • Have met the prescribed English proficiency requirements, which are at least IELTS (Academic) Band 6.5 or TOEFL iBT 80 and above.
    • Candidates using TOEFL ITP or IELTS Indicator results are required to undergo an interview, as the competency certificate does not include an oral test.
  2. Arabic Language & Islamic Education Program:
    • Candidates writing the thesis in Arabic – IELTS 5.5
    • Candidates writing their thesis in English – IELTS 6.0

However, international Nusantara candidates are given relaxation in English language competency requirements for programs that use the Malay language entirely, excluding the use of bilingualism where candidates are required to write their thesis in the Malay language.
